Standing on the other side
of the longest stretch
of the deepest water
I've ever had to swim through

shocked
and amazed
and so goddamn proud
that I didn't drown

Feeling the sun on my face
there is joy here

...

but not peace;
I can't help but try to see
what the next stretch looks like
